Done and Finished

Hey, you guys and gals I'm back with another blog about a new book. I actually stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new. Recently, I  chose to read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain a humorous fiction or as Twain calls it, "Satire".

The book is about a boy named Huck Finn, who lives in Missouri with a widow named Ms. Watson and her sister because his deadbeat dad left town. Later readers learn that word gets out about Huck's fortune (p.s. you should read Tom Sawyer first) and Huck's Dad returns to inherit his son's money. But, smart Huck signs over all his money to Judge Thatcher just in time: Huck's dad shows up and demands the money then kidnaps Huck and takes him off to live in an old and filthy cabin down by the river.

In order to escape the wrath of his alcoholic father, Huck, like every other kid would do, fakes his own death and hides out on a nearby island, where he meets another runaway, a slave by the name of Jim, …

Progress Report

Hello, fellow bloggers and readers! It's me again Brooklyn aka BrookieB and I am back today with a new blog. As I stated in my previous blog I want to up my reading game, by reading a certain amount of time daily and more often when I get the chance. To update you guys on that, it's been going well, I  read about 10-15 minutes a day completing roughly 17-20 pages in that time frame. I also mentioned how I would like to read more books out of my comfort zone, sadly I have yet to achieve that goal, but I am working on it.

But, today's blog will be a bit different from my last one. Today I would like to give some feedback about a new book I've read recently read called A Bad Boy Can be Good for a Girl by Tanya Lee Stone. If you couldn't tell from the title, yes it's a chick flick, or in this case, it would be a chick novel. It's about these three girls Josie, Nicolette, and Aviva who all get mixed up with the same, sexy and slick bad boy with an irresisti…

BrookieB & a Book

Hi, my name is Brooklyn Kendrick, but my friends call me BrookieB. Between school, family, dancing, modeling, and in-school extracurricular activities I'm the true definition of a busy bee. Which doesn't allow much time for things like a social life, sleep, me-time and unfortunately reading. I'll be honest though after all this is my blog where I'm free to state my opinions and preferences, I'm not a big fan of reading. I mean sure, if I find a good book that actually catches my attention, which is very rare, it'll take me three days tops to finish it. That's if I have the time, interest, or energy to even pick up a book. To be truthful the only time I really do read is when it is assigned. However, this past couple of months I've run into a couple of pretty good titles, such as  Small steps: the Year I Got Polioby Peg Kehret, A Bad Boy Can be Good for a Girlby Tanya Lee Stone, and Always Upbeat by StephaniePerry Moore.

       Since the beginnin…
